Festival Fever!

We have a special place in our hearts for any projects related to festivals or events. We love going to festivals, and we want to help other people enjoy them as much as we do. To empower people to go out there and experience the beauty that music, art, tech, and sports have to offer.

We’ve done quite a few projects with festivals and events. Check them out!

Amsterdam Dance Event

The Amsterdam Dance Event is an amazing example of what we love about festivals. Connecting people and technology in a playful manner, allowing them to discover and learn what music, art, and tech has to offer.

As one of the sponsors of ADE, Sogeti had the honor to host several workshops. They asked us to come up with concepts that harmonise Sogeti’s goals and the musical nature of ADE.

During ADE we equipped 6 Digital Happiness reporters with a Fitbit to check their heart rate, and a Spire Stone to track their breathing. We could check what got them excited and how they reacted in certain situations. We built a live dashboard where they were tracked. People visiting the website could see what they got excited about, and how ‘Digitally Happy’ they were.

During the Beat Battle people worked on building their own instrument. Using several sensors such as light, capacitive touch, and ultrasonic sensors, participants were challenged to create their own musical instrument within 4 hours.

Nacht van de Kaap

The ‘Katendrecht’ area of Rotterdam used to be home to wayward sailors and lusty ladies of the night. ‘De Nacht van de Kaap’ lets people travel back these days of yore by offering titillating stories, music, and theater.

The website offers people a taste of what to expect, they can check the program and find out where to see their favorite artists. The design of the website is aligned with the look and feel of the festival itself and invokes the burlesque atmosphere of times gone by.

Libema Open

The Libema Open is one of the biggest tennis tournaments in the Netherlands, with some of the world’s greatest players competing for the Grand Prize. This website gives visitors the latest scoop on everything tennis related with a continuously updated news feed.

The scoreboards and leaderboards are directly linked to the WTA and ATP databases, so you can track live scores while kicking it back at home in your chaise longue.

Joy of Coding 2017

The majority of coding and development events talk about the technical side. Joy of Coding tells the story of sexy coding. Great stories, hacking, and international speakers. An event by Coders for Coders. The retro/dystopian design reminds us that the future of coding doesn’t have to be bland.

Stukafest

During Stukafest, student rooms across the Netherlands will be transformed into mini-theatres where you can enjoy live music, dance, cabaret, poetry and much more.

We designed and developed a platform where every Stukafest board member is able to sign in and manage the content of their own city. Along with this platform comes a redesigned responsive website and app.

The Stukafest app automatically fetches the latest content from the website, making sure the content is always up-to-date on every platform.

World Port Busker Festival

The World Port Days in Rotterdam is the largest annual maritime festival in the Netherlands, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors over the course of three days. Buskers (street performers) provide a musical twist to the World Port Days, through a three-day program called the World Port Busker Festival.

We created a fully responsive website where people can easily find information on their favorite buskers, along with a custom-made map so visitors can find their performances of choice. It even integrates with your own personal calendar so you can be certain you won’t miss that one show you’ve been looking forward to all year. We started this project by developing a visual identity based on offline assets that were provided. We didn’t stop there. In line with this visual identity we designed content for various channels, such as portraits of the buskers and illustrations.
